Puppet-making/puppeteering: Since he was raised by a puppeteer, he has learnt how to make and perform using puppets. It's a useless ability, actually.

Strengths:

Flexibility: He's a ball-jointed puppet, so it's possible for him to contort himself into shapes impossible for others to do.
Physical Detachment: It would be painful, but he's able to detach various parts of his body, such as his limbs, if required. One of the reasons he chose to learn shadowmancy is so that he would be able to control the detached part through shadow-puppeteering.
Hard to kill: Being a doll, it's possible for him to be fixed. Though he isn't able to regenerate body parts or heal wounds, he could form a new body part or cover missing parts as a puppeteer fixes a puppet.
Insensitive to temperature: He doesn't have blood running through his veins, nor nerves as a normal human would. Although he can tell temperature with Rene's help, he isn't affected by it.

Weaknesses:

Fragile: Dolls are easily broken, no matter what type they are. Though Erin isn't kill-able, he is extremely fragile. Parts of him are, at least. He changes the materials for his body parts from time to time (wood, plastic, clay, etc.), according to what he finds to be more advantageous.
Physically weak: Erin doesn't have muscles a human should, and therefore has weak physical strength. His source of strength is Rene, and would have to rely on his shadow manipulation if he'd need to carry things. He'd avoid carrying heavy objects, or being around or under things that he wouldn't be able to control with shadows.
No combat / self defense skills: Erin himself isn't very good at any form of fighting, as he'd choose flight over fight if given the choice. Even though he'd like to defend himself, he lacks the skill or power to do so, and it makes him vulnerable.
Hesitation: Erin doesn't like to inflict pain upon others, not have it done to himself. He'd avoid having to fight, unless his state of mind has been shifted to Rene's instead.

History:

Being born as a result of an unsatisfied wife, whose last breath was used to give birth to him, Erin was cast into the streets, abandoned by his father, a wealthy and reputable businessman who produces toys. The only thing he held dearly was the doll that his mother planned to give him, a porcelain marionette. He made a living juggling multiple jobs, and was forced into prostitution after being taken advantage by one of his bosses.
A puppeteer took pity on him one day, seeing him begging on the streets, and took him as his own, adopting him into a family of two other children and taught him to become a puppeteer himself. Fascinated by the dolls, he played with them everyday, and performed for the other children. The eldest of the siblings was the only one who refused to live this way, though he was the most talented one of them. He ran away one night, leaving his father devastated and died of heartbreak. He and his sister had to work to support each other, and he secretly sold his body off again.
One day, while selling himself to a group of rich businessmen who offered a high price, he was caged and was offered as a sacrificial lamb for a ceremony they were conducting, planned to be used as blood sacrifice. The moment his wrist was cut and his blood dripped onto the other offerings, everything turned black and he found himself in a pool of blood, but not of his own. A figure stood before him, pitch black. He begged for mercy before it did anything and the shadow proposed a deal to let his soul be sold off to him so his remaining family member would live. He agreed, and allowed his body to be taken over, but it was too young, too weak. He was near death, but the Shadow didn't want to be cheated, and so, taking the marionette Erin kept in his pocket, it morphed his body to the dolls', creating the creature he is known to be now. A shadow marionette.

Script:

Erin: *He stares long and hard at the eerie place that stood before him, unsure of whether it was a good idea. The towers that protruded from the building looked odd. The building itself did. The large eye seemed suspicious to him, as if it was planning something, judging him in a way. He wouldn't consider it to be safe. He took a few steps back, hesitant. He was scared that whatever lies beyond those walls was prepared to kill him. Then again, the building itself looked capable enough of doing so, devouring his entire being in a heartbeat. But what would it matter? If he was devoured, then he wouldn't have anymore troubles. None of his attempts of suicide has helped--Rene would get mad at him and torture him for it, like he did the last time, after fixing him up. He shuddered at the thought, and sighed. Did he really consider that entering a possibly man-eating building to be a better thing to do than giving himself over to a Shadow-demon?* Here goes nothing... *He closed himself and braced himself.*

Sure is a cute little kiddo. Reminds me a lot of illumise, really what with the colour scheme, short stature and somewhat flapper-y style little hat. Which is a good thing, I think illumise is one of the cutest pokémon.
